The Great Intergenerational Wealth Transfer: How Investment Bonds can support with Estate Planning
We’re on the brink of the largest wealth transfer in Australian history. Decades of strong economic growth, record house prices and superannuation has contributed to an estimated $3.5 trillion that’s expected to pass on as inheritances to fewer heirs by 2050. Advisers are accustomed to helping clients accumulate wealth so they can live comfortably and maintain their lifestyle in retirement, but what happens afterwards? What are the tax implications? And how can you ensure your clients wishes are met, while maintaining and strengthening the long-term family advice relationship?

Getting your client’s house in order: tips for encouraging proactive estate planning
Up to 70% of Australians don’t have a valid will in place. This inevitably includes many of your wealthiest clients. With the growing complexity of the typical Australian family unit – and the massive intergenerational wealth transfer that is underway –   this needs urgent attention. Experienced private client lawyer James Groom will share his experiences and provide some practical tips on ways to encourage your clients to start thinking sensibly about estate planning. It all starts with having an honest conversation and can often lead to an extra layer of trust in the client relationship.
