Aligned with the 2026 International Women’s Day theme\, Balance the Scales\, this event focuses on fairness\, visibility and action – highlighting the role our profession can play in creating safer\, more equitable workplaces and pathways for women in financial advice. IWD 2026 will once again bring together financial advisers\, licensee teams\, fund managers\, product partners\, industry leaders\, women and men in advice\, early-career professionals and future talent. \nTo dial up the fun\, we’re adding an IWD‑themed trivia showdown – with our Partners and Sponsors stepping up as the competing teams. The audience won’t miss out though; expect plenty of chances to cheer\, guess along and get involved.\nHosted live\, teams will race through fast‑paced questions and challenges\, with one group ultimately crowned our inaugural IWD Trivia Champions. Proceeds raised from fundraising on the day will go towards Lovewell Foundation. \nWe look forward to seeing you there! \nFAAA Brisbane Metro Community – INSPIRE \nMeet your speakers\n \nRabia Siddique \nHumanitarian\, Author and Keynote Speaker \nRabia is an international criminal and human rights lawyer\, former senior British Army officer\, hostage and abuse survivor\, global change maker and trail blazer. \nShe was decorated by the late Queen Elizabeth II for her humanitarian work in the Middle East as well as in Asia\, South America and Europe\, and became well known for having successfully sued the British Armed Forces and Government for discrimination in a landmark case in 2008. \nRabia is the author of the bestselling book “Equal Justice – My Journey as a Woman\, a Soldier and a Muslim” and has become a multi award winning storyteller\, professional speaker\, leadership\, resilience and diversity consultant\, non-executive board member\, philanthropist\, media commentator and advocate for women\, children and our most marginalised communities. \nThrough her professional experience as an international lawyer\, senior executive\, military leader\, board director and trusted mentor\, and her lived experience as a humanitarian worker and trauma survivor\, Rabia brings unique perspectives to her work like no other. \nHer core purpose is the pursuit of multi-sector reform\, cultural change\, and leadership transformation\, in order to combat one of the biggest crises of our time – the erosion of trust – in our institutions\, organisations and leaders. \nRabia is driven to serve\, empower and inspire leaders to earn and build trust; by fostering greater resilience\, integrity\, inclusion and belonging. This is the key to enhancing leadership and organisational credibility and ensuring sustainable success. \n \nShelly Horton \nTV Journalist\, MC & Women’s Health Advocate \nShelly Horton is the personification of confidence. She’s a TV journalist\, sought after MC\, Women’s Health Advocate and runs her own company Shell-shocked Media where she teaches speaker and media training. She also runs Speak with Impact workshops. \nHer 30-year career encompasses significant roles\, including 11-years at ABC\, eight-years at Channel Seven\, six-years with Fairfax\, and five-years for ET America. In her current nine-year tenure at Channel 9\, Shelly has been a weekly feature on TODAY and TODAY EXTRA. \nShe’s a women’s health advocate\, speaking up and campaigning in parliament to destigmatise taboo topics like choosing to be childfree\, bladder leakage\, heavy periods\, and perimenopausal depression. \n \nSophie Edwards \nPodcaster/Speaker \nSophie Edwards was diagnosed with Rectal Adenocarcinoma in June 2022\, despite being young\, healthy\, and active. What started as subtle changes in bowel habits quickly escalated into a life-changing battle with cancer. Sophie underwent surgery\, chemotherapy\, radiation\, fertility treatment\, and a temporary ileostomy—but she came out the other side in remission and stronger than ever. \nNow\, Sophie is on a mission to break the stigma around bowel health\, encourage early detection\, and empower people to advocate for their own bodies.
