MenuFAAA Student Membership Agreement
By renewing my FAAA membership, I agree that:
- I am not aware of any finding, or event, which would affect my fitness to hold FAAA membership
- I have disclosed in this application (or previously) to the FAAA all matters and all current contact details necessary for the FAAA to maintain any public Register of members;
- I am, and will remain, a fit and proper person to be a member of the FAAA;
- I am in good standing with my Australian Financial Services Licensee and/or employer
- I understand that “financial planner” and “financial adviser” are restricted expressions under section 923C of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and becoming a FAAA member does not provide me with sufficient qualification to use these terms if I am not otherwise eligible to do so; and
- I undertake to the Board:
- to comply with the Constitution of the FAAA including any regulations made by the Board from time to time, and with the FAAA Professional Code;
- each time I use the FAAA brand, including without limitation FChFP and the trademarks (to the extent applicable to the applicant) “CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®”, “CFP®”, “Financial Planner AFP®”,”LRS®”, “AEPS®” and associated logos, I warrant that the use of such designations, marks or logo by me does not contravene section 923C of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) which covers use of the restricted terms Financial Planner and Financial Adviser or other like terms;
- to notify the FAAA within 28 days of the effective date of:
- any change of address, email, telephone and other contact details;
- any change of employment details and/or change of status as a Relevant Provider;
- any other finding, conduct or event, which would affect my fitness to hold FAAA membership, to belong to a certain sub-category (as the case may be), or be necessary for the FAAA to maintain any public Register;
- to provide notice in writing to the FAAA within seven (7) days of the occurrence of any Notifiable Event (refer to the FAAA Conduct & Integrity Regulations).
- I have read and consent to the terms of the FAAA Privacy Policy available at www.faaa.au/about/privacy.
I consent to:
- the FAAA disclosing the fact that I hold membership to any person (as required by law, whether upon request or by publication) notwithstanding that such information may include personal information within the meaning of that term under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) as amended.
I make these declarations and undertakings to the Board in full knowledge and acceptance that should I knowingly make a false declaration or breach my undertaking to the Board I commit a breach of the Member Regulation and the principle of integrity in the FAAA Professional Code and may be subject to disciplinary proceedings under the FAAA Conduct & Integrity Regulations
