Session Overview
When a client passes away, the practical and administrative tasks left behind can overwhelm families – and leave advisers unsure of what they can (and should) do to help. This session demystifies the after-death administration process, giving advisers a clear framework to understand the role of executors and beneficiaries through the maze of estate tasks that follow a death.
We’ll walk through the some of the 40 different tasks involved – from document collection, bank notifications, share registries, insurance and utility notifications as well as and property transfers, to understanding probate timelines and what executors can action before the Grant of Probate is issued. You’ll also learn how to identify opportunities for proactive planning, helping your clients reduce delays, costs, and emotional stress.
Designed as a practical, compassionate mini-masterclass, this session equips advisers to collaborate confidently with executors, lawyers, and families – ensuring every client’s financial story is finalised with care, compliance, and respect.
