FAAA congratulates new shadow ministry

The FAAA has welcomed the appointment of the member for Goldstein Tim Wilson as shadow treasurer, and the reappointment of the member for Cowper Pat Conaghan as shadow assistant treasurer and shadow financial services minister, in the Taylor Shadow Ministry.

Sarah Abood, CEO of the FAAA, said: “Mr Wilson and Mr Conaghan will be key figures in ensuring that critical matters for the financial advice profession, including reforming the Compensation Scheme of Last Resort and increasing the pipeline of professional financial advisers, are addressed.

“I look forward to working with Mr Wilson and Mr Conaghan as we strive for a stronger and more sustainable financial advice framework that improves both access to and the affordability of advice for Australians.”

Abood also expressed gratitude to former shadow treasurer Ted O’Brien for his on-going engagement with the sector, wishing him well in his new shadow portfolio of foreign affairs.
