2019 FPA Award nominations are open to acknowledge excellence

The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) is calling for nominations to the 2019 FPA Awards, an annual program recognising excellence by FPA members in financial planning and notable contributions to their local communities.

The FPA Awards acknowledge achievements of exceptional financial planners, paraplanners, university students and FPA Professional Practices from across Australia. The Awards also celebrate the individuals and businesses who go above and beyond to deliver outstanding results for clients.

FPA CEO, Dante De Gori CFP® said the broader dynamics at play in the financial services industry at the moment make the 2019 FPA Awards program more poignant than ever: “Our profession is going through enormous change and this initiative allows us to spotlight the positive, excellent work FPA members are doing for the clients, and in their communities.

“Hearing and celebrating our members’ success stories makes me immensely proud. This year we’ll be honouring exceptional work across six different award categories, with finalists and award winners announced in the presence of peers at the 2019 FPA Professionals Congress in Melbourne later this year,” he said.

Submissions are now open, and close on Friday 30 August. The six categories are:

  • FPA CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional of the Year Award
  • FPA Financial Planner AFP® of the Year Award
  • FPA Paraplanner of the Year Award
  • FPA Professional Practice of the Year Award
  • FPA University Student of the Year Award
  • Community Service Award supported by Future2.

The Future2 Community Service Award recognises FPA members who make an outstanding contribution to improving the circumstances of disadvantaged members of the community in a pro-bono, volunteering or community service capacity. Future2 is the philanthropic arm of the FPA.

The next generation of financial planners are acknowledged in the FPA University Student of the Year Award that recognises students excelling in the field of finance and showing a dedication to financial planning. Students who have demonstrated exceptional performance need to be nominated by their respective accredited educational institution.

“Past winners from Mackay, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth all came together at the 2018 FPA Professionals Congress in Sydney where their achievements were awarded and celebrated. I strongly encourage all FPA members across Australia to enter this year, the nomination process itself can be hugely rewarding as you take the time to recall and articulate the positive difference you’ve made in the lives of clients and communities,” Mr De Gori said.

All categories will be judged by a panel of experts. Depending on the category, award winners will receive consumer media opportunities, financial contribution to professional development, and complimentary registration to the 2020 FPA Professionals Congress.

Award winners will be announced at the 2019 FPA Professionals Congress in Melbourne 27-29 November.

Submissions are now open and close on Friday 30 August. To find out more and apply visit fpa.com.au/awards.
