FAAA CFP® professional awarded OAM

The FAAA is delighted that the 2023 King’s Birthday Honours for Australia acknowledged the significant contribution made to the financial planning profession by Neil Kendall CFP® with the award of the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).

The Medal of the Order of Australia recognises Australians who have demonstrated outstanding service or exceptional achievement.

Neil is a CFP® professional who runs Tupicoff’s, a successful FAAA Professional Practice in Brisbane. He has won a plethora of significant professional awards including the FAAA Value of Advice awards, Money Management Financial Planner of the Year, qualified in the Masterclass Top 50 numerous times, and been listed in Barron’s Top 100 Financial Advisers.

Neil has selflessly provided exceptional leadership to the FPA (now FAAA) over the years, both as a member, through his leadership of many committees and projects, and as the Treasurer for the Brisbane Chapter for 4 years. Neil served 8 years on the FPA Board as a member elected director, including 4 years as the FPA Chair.

During Neil’s time as FPA Chair the terms Financial Planner / Financial Adviser were enshrined in legislation, the inaugural FAAA 10 Point Plan was created, the Financial Planning Education Council was gifted to the profession, planners were given powers to witness statutory declarations, paraplanner workshops were implemented and many other ideas to support our members were initiated. He was pivotal in the FAAA’s evolution to a professional association and in raising standards for members.

Neil was Chair of the Financial Planning Standards Board Council, helping to lift the standards of financial planning and with the management of the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation globally.

In addition to his contribution back to the profession, Neil is the founder of Financial Rescue, set up in 2012 to assist victims of financial fraud recover their losses.

In recognition of his exceptional contribution to the development and reputation of the financial planning profession and the FAAA over an extended period of time, Neil is also a Fellow and Life member of the FAAA.
