FPSB reports record number of CFP® professionals worldwide

The number of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professionals is on the rise, says the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA).

The Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB), the global licensing body for the CFP® designation, has reported another year of growth with a 3.2 per cent rise in the number of CFP® professionals in 2017.

The FPSB network added 15,726 CFP® professionals, raising the total number of CFP® professionals to a record 175,573 worldwide.

Commenting on the growth of the CFP® certification program, Dante De Gori CFP®, CEO of the FPA, said: “Australia now has a network of 5,702 CFP® professionals. The continued growth of the CFP® designation provides a larger pool of highly competent and ethical financial planners.

“The CFP® designation is the only financial planning designation recognised worldwide that requires financial planners to adhere to world class professional and ethical standards.

“It is very important for Australians to know what to look for when they are seeking financial advice. The CFP® designation is the gold standard in advice and research shows that people who work with a CFP® professional generally feel more confident in achieving their financial goals.”
