Nicholas Battaerd
Senior Ombudsman (Investments & Advice)
Prior to joining AFCA as an Ombudsman in 2024, Nicholas was a director in the KPMG Law financial services team.
He has experience across financial services in Australia and the UK, and has worked as in-house counsel for UBS, RBS and HSBC, as well as in private practice.
Nicholas has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong, and a Diploma in International Trust Management from STEP
Robert Kimberley
Head of Professional Standards & Accountability
Rob has been working with the FAAA since March 2021 and is responsible for delivering the FAAA’s professionalism function.
He has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry in Australia and internationally, working in both the public and private sectors, for wealth management firms, top tier banking groups and regulatory bodies, specialising in dispute resolution and advice review.
