Drought support is always available, with no declarations required.

The research also found farmers expect their trusted advisers to help them navigate available support and connect them with the right information at the right time.

Director (Drought Partnerships – Drought Policy), Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry

Hayley Rawsthorne is the Director of Drought Partnerships in the Drought Policy Branch at the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. She has more than 20 years’ experience in strategy and policy, stakeholder engagement and strategic communications roles across Commonwealth and State Government, professional services and the banking and finance sector. The Drought Partnerships team works with government, industry and regional stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and improve the understanding, relevance and value of Australian Government drought programs.
