Session Overview

The financial advice profession offers a diverse range of career pathways, yet entry and progression can feel unclear for students, early-career professionals, and career changers. This webinar brings together a panel of both experienced and aspiring financial planners who have pursued both traditional and non-traditional pathways within the profession.

Through a series of short presentations and a facilitated discussion, speakers will share their personal journeys, including experiences with CFP certification, transitioning into advice from other careers, and contributing to pro-bono and community-based financial advice initiatives.

Attendees will gain practical insights into the evolving landscape of financial planning, including emerging specialisations, study pathways, and strategies for overcoming common barriers to entry. The session is designed to demystify career progression in financial advice, highlight the breadth of opportunities available, and provide actionable guidance for those at the early stages of their professional journey.
