CPD Accreditation Service

The FAAA offers a simple and efficient CPD Accreditation Service that provides independent evaluation and accreditation of your professional development activities. Benefits of our service include guidance to enhance your program and learning experience as well as increased engagement by financial advice professionals due to the independent verification by the FAAA of meeting the agreed standards.

Becoming a CPD accreditor

In order to become an FAAA approved CPD accreditor, members need to meet various criteria including elements of your employment, qualifications, experience and training. Reach out to a member of the team to discuss further!

CPD Policy

Our CPD Policy helps our community understand their CPD obligations as a member of the FAAA. It is aligned with the FASEA standard.

CPD member audit

The FAAA periodically contacts members at random to partake in a member audit requiring them to submit their CPD record. Participation is mandatory. Please see key documents below:

FAAA Learn

Through our learning management system, FAAA Learn, CFP® Professionals and Practitioner members can meet their annual legislative requirements for free. Other membership categories can gain access to a broad range of free and discounted education content. Engage in webinars, articles, and quizzes and let FAAA Learn track the hours for you! Member Audits

We periodically contact members at random to partake in CPD audits which include the completion of a CPD plan and CPD record. Participation is mandatory and ensures our community upholds the highest professional standards as per the FAAA Policy: CPD

CFP® Professional (Practising) 28 hours - 70% of minimum hours required by the Corporations CPD Standard 40 hours
CFP® Professional (Non-Practising) 10 hours - 50% of minimum hours required by the FAAA 20 hours
CFP® Professional (Retired) N/A 15 hours (can include reading the newspaper, attending an FAAA event, reading FAAA Weekly, mentoring etc.)
FAAA Practitioner 28 hours - 70% of minimum hours required by the Corporations CPD Standard 40 hours
FAAA Affiliate 10.5 hours - 70% of minimum hours required by the FAAA (recommended best practise - no mandatory requirement) 15 hours (recommended best practise - no mandatory requirement)
